JURE PUKL ORGANIC TRIO (SVN, ITA, UKR)

Performing: Jure Pukl (saxophone), Alessandro Lanzoni (el. organ), Oleg Markov (drums)

Saxophonist and composer Jure Pukl, a recipient of the Prešeren Fund award, is considered one of the most important figures in Slovenian jazz music. He received his education in Vienna, The Hague, and Berklee College of Music, and obtained his master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. He collaborated with world-renowned jazz artists.

Pukl’s new trio features Alessandro Lanzoni on electric organ and Oleg Markov on drums. The music performed by the three internationally renowned musicians is original and encompasses elements of jazz, modern classical music, and popular music genres.

HAUPTMAN

Performing: Žan Hauptman (vocal), Pavel Čebašek (drums), Jaka Krušič (bass), Primož Hudoklin (guitar), Alja Senčar (backing vocal), Vanesa Tomažič (backing vocal)

Žan Hauptman debuted to the general public in 2022 at the EMA (Slovenian Eurovision Song Contest) with the song Sledim (Following). That same year, it became the most-played track on the Val 202 station. Through his first album Finished, Not Perfect he enriched the local music scene with English songs blending jazz, soul, R&B, and pop. With his second album Blizu (Close) he unveiled a new sonic identity with compositions in Slovenian, showcased at sold-out concerts at the Cukrarna venue and Ljubljana Castle. Apart from his solo endeavours, he collaborates as an author or keyboardist with fellow Slovenian musicians, including Emkej, Leopold I., and Amaya.

DANIEL CACCIA EUROPEAN QUARTET (CRO, NLD, SVN)

Performing: Daniel Caccia (vocal), Ratko Zjaca (guitar), Renato Chicco (piano, organ), Jože Zadravec (drums)

Daniel Caccia earned his master’s degree at the jazz department of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Alongside his quartet, he performed with various bands, including Roger Cicero’s Big Band, Latvian Radio Big Band, and Sigi Feigl Big Band. He received several awards and nominations for his work (2013 – titled the best young singer by the American magazine DownBeat; 2014 – received the Croatian Porin Discography Award for Jazz Album of the Year with the HGM Orchestra; 2016 – nominated for the German Echo Award for his first solo album Lifeline).

MAJ KAVŠEK KVINTET (SVN, RUS, GER)

Performing: Maj Kavšek (trumpet, flugelhorn), Efim Brailovskiy (saxophone), Samo Hude (piano), Gal Golob (double bass), Leo Gerstner (drums) 

Maj Kavšek completed his trumpet studies at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana and is currently pursuing further studies at the jazz music department of the Berlin University of Arts. In the early stages of his musical journey, he excelled in various competitions. He honed his skills under the guidance of esteemed mentors such as Reggie Moore, Greg Cohen, and David Friedman. As a soloist, he graced the stage multiple times with the Big Band of RTV Slovenia, and his projects are regular highlights in both the local Ljubljana and international music scenes.

The members of this vibrant young international quintet are cultivating their unique musical dialect, drawing inspiration from a diverse array of genres including classical, folk, electronic, and contemporary music, all within the framework of jazz and improvisation.
