FAKE ORCHESTRA

Fake Orchestra is a musical collective that brings together top Slovenian musicians to explore various styles of popular music. Founded in 1997 by singer Ana Vipotnik and guitarist Igor Leonardi, the group has collaborated with world-renowned jazz musicians as well as the iconic rock band Metallica. Leonardi was also the creative force behind the music show “Muzikajeto” on RTV Slovenia. Fake Orchestra regularly performs in various lineups, both in Slovenia and abroad. The band will showcase a fusion of ethno-jazz, funk, and drum and bass at this concert.

The “Sons & Diversidades” project showcases this blend through original music and reinterpretations, featuring engaging rhythms and melodies that tell personal stories. Cuban jazz double bassist Roland Abreu, recognized as one of the leading young bassists on the international scene, collaborates with renowned guitarist and composer Ratko Zjaca, who has received multiple international awards, and Slovenian drummer Jože Zadravec. Together, they unveil their new project, “Triology,” where they perform original compositions in a trio format. This concert promises a fresh, innovative, and enriching musical experience that combines exceptional virtuosity, improvisation, and a deep passion for jazz.

Romano Drom is one of the most prominent ensembles in contemporary Roma culture. Since its formation in 1999, the group has captivated audiences worldwide. Their music combines the centuries-old tradition of the Vlach Roma with modern influences, including Catalan rumba, Arabic and Balkan pop, percussion rhythms, and contemporary electronic elements. They sing in the original language of the Vlach Roma, and their authenticity appeals to both traditional music lovers and a wider audience. Romano Drom serves as an ambassador for the rich Roma heritage as well as for contemporary musical innovations.

SILENCE

Duo Silence is one of Slovenia’s most original musical formations, comprising Primož Hladnik and Boris Benko. They have released five studio albums and composed music for more than seventy theater, puppet, and dance performances, leaving a notable mark on contemporary performing arts. Their collaborations include work with renowned directors such as Tomaž Pandur, Aleksandar Popovski, Matjaž Berger, Matjaž Pograjc, and Primož Ekart. In 2024, they debuted “PROCES{i}”, an original theater and music performance inspired by Franz Kafka. This production left a powerful emotional and intellectual impact. Duo Silence’s artistic journey is closely linked with the legendary Laibach. The duo also composes film music, garnering recent recognition with the Vesna Award for Best Original Score for “Salvation for Beginners” in 2024.

The joy of singing and support from parents inspired the young members to create music, initially by performing at holy masses and later at concerts. Their repertoire celebrates the beauty and richness of music, while their style is rooted in contemporary youth music, conveying profound meanings and messages.
