NIKA GORIČ & MATJAŽ BALAŽIC – THE PATHS OF LOVE

Performing: Nika Gorič (soprano), Matjaž Balažic (accordion)

The internationally renowned soprano Nika Gorič studied singing in Graz and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she was awarded the Queen’s Commendation for Excellence as a student of the year upon completing her doctoral studies. She graced prestigious stages worldwide, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Hamburg Philharmonic on the Elbe, the Royal Festival Hall in London, Symphony Hall in Birmingham, and the Sydney Opera House. 

Together with Matjaž Balažic, multiple prize winner of various domestic and international competitions (TEMSIG, Castelfidardo, Pula, Beltinci, Majano), Nika Gorič will take you on a journey from Argentina through France and back home with a selection of Slovenian folk songs, presented in a new light, promising a wide spectrum of emotional and musical nuances.

GLASIS CHAMBER CHOIR

Performing: Glasis Chamber Choir

The Glasis Chamber Choir embarked on its musical journey in September 2013. At that time, singers with similar aspirations united under the leadership of conductor Ernest Kokot. The choir interprets a diverse range of choral music spanning all stylistic periods. Over the years, it participated in numerous national and international choral competitions and gatherings, undertaking several prestigious projects. Throughout its existence, the choir attained a distinguished and recognizable status in Slovenia and beyond. Unity, dedication, ambition, and friendship are the guiding principles that foster mutual understanding and an unwavering passion for creating music.

VARAŽDIN VOCAL ENSEMBLE (VVA)

Performing: Janja Knapić Omranloo (soprano), Samanta Pernek (soprano), Mateja Krsnik (soprano), Vida Dodigović (alto), Nevenka Kozina (alto), Irena Stipišević Rakamarić (alto), Kristina Detelj (alto), Emilia Galović (alto), Denis Kos (tenor), Sebastijan Nedeljko (bass), Zoran Puljek (bass, beatbox)

The Varaždin Vocal Ensemble (VVA) is among Croatia’s few a capella groups. Through their performances, blending voices, beatboxing, and instrument imitation, they explore pop, jazz, traditional, classical, and film music. The group’s creation was supported by the concert agency Koncertni ured Varaždin (KUV) and encouraged by the esteemed conductor, arranger, and composer Milad Omranloo, as well as the choir leader and conductor Janja Knapić Omranloo. VVA singers held numerous solo concerts and appeared at prestigious events. In their upcoming performance, they will perform with well-known compositions spanning classical, popular, jazz, world, and film music (W. A. Mozart, A. Piazzolla, G. Rossini, The Swingles, The Beatles, M. Jackson, ABBA, Jinx).

Performing: Kor Chamber Choir

The Kor Chamber Choir, successfully led by Daniel Tement, has been operating within the KulTura Cultural Arts Society (KUD) in Markovci since 2011. Specializing in standalone, comprehensive concerts, the choir also engages in international and domestic competitions, as well as national and local events, occasionally participating in sacred rituals. Over the years, the choir received numerous awards in Slovenia and abroad, establishing itself as one of the highest-quality Slovenian choirs.
